Just when you thought it was safe to put baby in the high chair…. this week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of 1.2 million Graco Harmony High Chairs.  Sigh….

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued  a warning regarding the use of baby slings.  The full alert, (which you can read here) is directed at parents of babies younger than 4 months and doesn’t single out one specific brand of baby sling.  It does strongly urge parents to take extra precautions when using any over-the-shoulder sling with their newborn.  One of our favorite sites, The Baby Wearer, weighs in on the sling controversy here.

We’ve always been fans of “hands-free” baby wearing, but as with ALL baby products, it’s critical to read the manufactures’ instructions and exercise caution.  Baby K’tan, one of our longtime picks, is a cross between a typical sling and a more structured front baby carrier, making it a nice alternative to anyone nervous about the idea of “wearing” your baby.

However you decide to wear and/or carry your baby, please educate yourself on this important issue.
