We wanted to give a shout out to our favorite go-to Green Gal, Alegre Ramos.  Not only is she the owner of LA’s premiere Green boutique, Green and Greener, but she’s also pregnant with her first baby.  Who better to write an informative and insightful article on going green during pregnancy.  We wanted to share her six tips for a green pregnancy here.  Enjoy!

We love practical baby items and as any new parent knows, you can never have too many bibs.  Our newest find, the Baggino Learner’s Bib, gets our thumbs up because it can be used from table time to play time.  Long sleeves, long front, and the cute, simple design are what makes this bib a stand out.

As busy working moms, we know that quiet, “alone” time often takes place while driving -shuttling between school, soccer, meetings - you name it.  We also know how easy it is to use that time to check in with our hubbies, friends, make a doctor’s appointment, or even dinner reservations.  Starting today, all that will change.  We’ve taken Oprah’s (yes, we love her!) No Phone Zone Pledge and encourage you to, as well.  As hard a habit this is to break, remember, distracted driving is dangerous driving.

I pledge to make my car a No Phone Zone. Beginning right now,  I will do my part to help put an end to distracted driving by not texting or using my phone while I am driving.  I will ask other drivers I know to do the same.  I pledge to make a difference.

We’ve all seen them, those fabulous celebs who seem to bounce back to their post-baby bodies in the time it takes to get home from the hospital.  While we love Heidi and adore Padma, when it comes to “reality” our favorite post-baby-body role model is none other than Kourtney Kardashian. This new mom not only gave birth to a beautiful baby boy but also had the confidence and courage to admit that she gained 40lbs while preggers and, despite the fab photoshop, has yet to lose it! 

We say bravo for making it OK! for pregnant and new moms to celebrate their bodies and for sharing the only secret to post-baby weight loss – healthy diet, exercise and lots of patience!

We’ve all been there….playing around on our computers when we’re supposed to be doing something else.  Well, we’ve discovered a site that’s not only a fun distraction, but does the world some good.  Free Rice is a game playing site that tests your knowledge in a variety of topics.

With subjects ranging from chemistry to geography, this addicting game may just make you smarter, improve your speaking, writing, thinking, grades,  job performance, and overall personality!  And for each correct answer, they’ll donate 10 grains of rice through the World Food Programme to help end hunger.  With the United Nations estimating that a child dies from hunger related causes every 6 seconds , playing a little Free Rice is the least we could do.

Johnson & Johnson issued a massive recall recently of over-the-counter drugs including Tylenol, Motrin and St. Joseph’s aspirin because of a moldy smell that has made people sick.  Click here for more information.

Our friends at Happy Heinys have always supported those in need and after the devastating earthquake in Haiti they have once again shown what an amazing and philanthropic company they are.  Linda Byerline, the CEO of Happy Heinys, is currently soliciting monetary donations as well as baby clothing and small items that can be sent to Haitian orphanages, the goal is to  ensure that as many babies as possible have dry cloth on their bottoms, clean clothes to wear, and food in their belly.  Details on how you can help are below:
